I have been involved with my brothers company Kiwi Feather Props Ltd - www.kiwiprops.co.nz for some time now.
We are in the process of assessing a new propeller model for production. We are fortunate as we have a large quantity of real data for comparison.
My background is civil engineering, with a reasonable handle on Unix / Linux having used these for 15 years. We create our own designs and models with Rhino3d. We intend using OpenFOAM during the design phase of this project, to compare designs and search for efficiencies.
Have cases run, but still have much to learn to fine tune these.
