The first thing that happened to me, I was born. Mother told me that it wash't easy, I did not like the world at all. Now I'll skip several years, at the age of 3 (IIRC) I went to the kinder garden and there sill was not sign of my future involvement with OpenFOAM.
During university years I've started to fall in love with computers and numerical methods. Then for financial reasons I fell in love with web-development as CFD was not so profitable in Russia. But web-development soon became rather boring, also parents for some reason wanted me to have PhD, so I've returned to CFD. Spent 3 year developing in-house code for simulation of processes at high energy densities (hyper-velocity impacts, explosions, interactions of matter with high energy electron beams), defended my PhD. At some point status of Russian scientist began to annoy, so for the 1.5 years I've become Korean scientist. Where my involvement with OpenFOAM began. It was simulations of hydraulic structures, mainly comparison of different turbulence models and planning of experiment. But SUDDENLY (as it's quite usual in Korea) financing program was closed, so I've decided to become this time French researcher.
Currently I'm using OpenFOAM for simulation of different metallurgical processes. As an example - electron beam melting, that I've presented on the last workshop.
